This month, we learned all about sainthood—what does it mean to be a saint, what qualities saints have, and the fact that saints were not perfect people, but imperfect sinners who loved God and strove to follow His teachings. We went over some saints throughout history who, through their own unique circumstances, took up the mantle of virtue and became saints. Some of them were even those we didn’t expect to have become saints, if we had a say. We then spoke about how all people, even us, are called to be saints. This is what the Church calls the universal call to holiness: the idea that through our baptism, we have all been called to be holy, to become saints!
How does someone become a saint, practically? Yes, one must live a life of virtue but who determines who is a saint? Take a look at this video explaining the process of becoming a saint, from Busted Halo:

This month, instead of our normal Lectio and Visio Divina, I will ask you to do brief research on a saint. This could be any saint that you like—a saint your family has a devotion to, a saint whose patronage is something you like, or someone with your name! In your report, I would like you to include the following about your saint:
- The name and feast day of your saint (1-2 sentences)
- What your saint is famous for and what their patronage is (3-4 sentences)
- How you wish to emulate this saint (2-3 sentences)
- Find a Bible quote that you think describes this saint and explain why (1 sentence)
- BONUS: Submit a drawing of this saint OR create a prayer asking for this saint’s intercession
