The Sacrament of Baptism is a time of great joy for our parish community.  In preparation for the reception of this Sacrament by our children, instruction (called catechesis) is given to all parents.  We encourage godparents to take advantage of this opportunity as well.  The meetings are held at the home of a Baptismal Host couple and include a general catechesis on Baptism, and an overview of the liturgy of the sacrament.  This meeting gives the parents an opportunity to come together to meet and share the joy of the occasion and to learn more about ongoing parish activities.

Infant Baptism
There are three steps for the baptismal program at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Upon calling the rectory, the parents will be given a date for (1) the pre-baptismal class which is hosted at a parishoner's home, the date of (2) the child's baptism, and finally the date of (3) the post-baptismal Sunday mass and reception.

Communal Baptisms are held every month on the first Sunday at 1:30 pm and on the third Saturday at 11 am (except for Holiday weekends). Register a month or two in advance for the Baptismal Program.
