Thank you for your interest in the OLMC Summer Religious Education Program.
Here are some program highlights for your consideration:
Program Dates:
The dates are usually 6 to 8 days right after school lets out for summer recess. (We do not have the exact dates yet)
Time:
Usually it is 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, weekdays

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church

All families must be registered parishioners at OLMC
A student registration form and a copy of the child’s baptismal certificate are required for any child registering for the 1st for the Faith Formation Program.
Program Overview:
We begin each day in the Church with an opening prayer led by one of our priests. The children will then go to their classrooms by grade. Each class will have 10-14 children.
Each day, there will be 3 instructional lessons, an art lesson and a music lesson. Each lesson is 30 minutes. We will be using the Alive in Christ curriculum and there is one faith theme covered each day.
In addition to the 6 (-8) days your children attend during the summer, this program has a required school year component. Your family will attend 6 family sessions, including the Lenten Confessions during the school year. We give you many choices and you can choose 5 and all children in grades 2-6 attend the Lenten Confessions. First graders complete a lesson on Lent at home with their parents.
Attendance is recorded at each event and you must make sure to attend at least 6 sessions before the next Summer Registration Meeting in late February/early March for the next program year.
Parent Requirements:
Every parent must participate/volunteer up to 2 days per child; you must remain on site for the entire time of the day you are assigned. Please do not come late or leave early. Some years the requirement is 1 day per child. It depends on how many families participate that year.
