Deacon Nicholas J. De Lucca
Deacon Nick is married to Arlene, and had a son, Todd (deceased) a granddaughter, Samantha, and also a great-granddaughter, Cecilia
Deacon Nick has served at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for over 19 years. Prior to this assignment he was at Our Lady, Mother of the Church, Woodcliff Lake. He has been ordained 25 years. Some of his responsibilities include, community the parish’s stewardship efforts, along with Baptisms, Assisting at Mass.

He has served in the U.S. Army (Medical Corps.), and has a B.S. in Marketing from Rutgers University, and a Masters Degree in Theology from Immaculate Conception Seminary. He is a certified Bereavement Counselor, Archdiocese of New York. He previously served as an Advocate / Procurator for the Archdiocese of Newark’s Marriage Tribunal.

Not having grown up in a church going family, His involvement in the Church came when at the age of 35, he had a crises in his life. Deacon Nick feels that God continues to call each and everyone of us to a closer relationship with him, no matter what the age of the person is.

Peter Denio
Pastoral Associate for Adult Faith Formation
Peter Denio is Pastoral Associate for Adult Faith Formation. He also works full-time as a project manager for Leadership Roundtable. He was the former Director for The Catholic Common Ground Initiative and Pastoral Services at the National Pastoral Life Center. Peter has worked and continues to work in parish ministry for over twenty years and has had roles in Religious Education, Worship, and Adult Formation. He has served on the advisory boards of the Fordham Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education and on the Paulist Office for Reconciliation. He currently serves on the national advisory committee of the Catholic Common Ground Initiative.

He co-authored a chapter on young adults in Vatican II: A Call to Holiness by Paulist Press and a chapter on Meeting Management from Liturgical Press in the second volume of The Pastor’s Toolbox. He received a Masters in Pastoral Ministry from Boston College and a Masters in Public Administration from Seton Hall University. Peter lives in Fair Lawn, New Jersey with his wife and their three kids.

Sr. Mary Spano, SC
Pastoral Associate for the Sick, Elderly & Homebound
Sr Mary Spano was born in Brooklyn, the youngest of three children. When she was seven her family moved year-round into their summer log cabin located on Shady Lake in West Milford Township, NJ. She attended Catholic schools throughout her entire education. Sr Mary received her BA in Elementary Education from the College of St Elizabeth and her Masters in Pastoral Ministry from Immaculate Conception Seminary. As a Sister of Charity, Sr Mary has served as teacher, pastoral associate, and certified chaplain in health care facilities.

For several years, she worked as a missionary in Haiti coordinating outreach assistance to women and children as well as providing spiritual and compassionate care for the sick and elderly. Throughout her religious life, Sr Mary has aspired to be a compassionate presence, leading others to a deeper spiritual awareness of prayer and service within the Church today.
