The Pastoral Council of OLMC |
The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council is to ensure that the life of the parish reflects the mission of Jesus Christ and that all parishioners are provided with the opportunity to share in that mission. Since the pastor is ultimately responsible to the Archbishop for the pastoral care in the parish, the Pastoral Council must work together with the pastor in providing the means for which all parishioners may share in that mission.
The Pastoral Council here at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is composed of various ministries. The model under which our Pastoral Council functions is called a "Council of Ministries." People are discerned to the council by their peers within what is called a "cluster", or four main areas under which all other ministries may be "clustered", and they are: WORD, WORSHIP, COMMUNITY-BUILDING and SERVICE.

All of the above areas are interrelated and interdependent. No one of them is any more or less important than another.
