General Ceremony Information (Applies to both ceremonies.)
- Each ceremony should last approximately 2 hours.
- Following the ceremony, the newly confirmed should see their small group leader (s) in order to receive their Confirmation certificate.
- The bishop will be available following the ceremony for pictures.
- Pictures are NOT to be taken during the ceremony.
- Since the Confirmation Masses do NOT fulfill a Sunday obligation, a collection will NOT be taken at any ceremony.
Seating: you will find a seating chart online under the CONFIRMATION icon. Due to the large number of candidates to be confirmed, each candidate has been assigned half of a pew. Pews were assigned randomly through a lottery system. A brother or sister was automatically assigned the other half of the same pew or the pew directly behind.
The candidate is to sit on the end, followed by the sponsor and two guests. A seating chart is enclosed. If a candidate or sponsor has a physical handicap and their current seating location would be a hardship, please contact me as soon as possible so that we may rectify the situation.
General Seating: We have 179 Candidates for Confirmation and only 2 Confirmation Ceremonies, therefore seating is limited. We cannot exceed fire code when assigning seats in the church. Please be understanding concerning this matter. Candidates being confirmed at either of the two ceremonies will receive eight spots for seating in the church. The candidate and sponsor are NOT included in this number. These spots are to be used by parents, grandparents, siblings or whoever else you wish to invite. Since this will fill the church to seating capacity, we ask that you please keep to this number when inviting guests to the ceremony. If you are NOT going to use all of the seats allotted to you, please call the youth office so we can offer them to someone else. If you wish to have more than eight people attend the ceremony, please contact the youth office and we will place you on a “waiting list”. When space becomes available we will contact you.
We will NOT use tickets. Everyone is on the honor system. Please be considerate of others.
If you have a family member that needs wheelchair accessible seating, please call the Youth Ministry office so that we can reserve a space for that person and their seat companion.
