Twelfth Sunday of Ordinary Time

Dear Friends,

A tribute to our fathers on this Father’s Day.

I may fail to be as clever as my neighbor down the street,
I may fail to be as wealthy as some other men I meet,
I may never win the glory which a lot of men have had,
But I’ve got to be successful as a little fellow’s dad.

There are certain dreams I cherish which I’d like to see come true,
There are things I would accomplish when my time of life is through,
But the task my heart is on is to guide a little lad
And to make myself successful as that little fellow’s dad.

I may never come to glory, I may never gather gold,
Men may list me with the failures when my business life is told,
But if he who follows after me shall be manly, I’ll be glad,
For I’ll know I’ve been successful as that little fellow’s dad.

It’s the one job that I dream of, it’s the task I think of most,
 If I fail that growing youngster, I’d have nothing else to boast;
For though wealth and fame I’d gathered, all my failure would be sad,
If I failed to be successful as that little fellow’s dad.

God bless all our dads on their special day and thank you for who you are.  As a gift from the parish, please take a faith pen with you and know how much your faith contributes not only to your family but to the parish family as well.

God Bless,
Fr. Ron

PS. Aren’t you tired yet of searching for those envelopes, or of digging into your wallets or bags to find your money?  Chuck all that effort and join the growing numbers of your neighbors, maybe in the pew next to you, by signing on to e-giving.  It’s fast, it’s convenient and it helps the parish by regularizing our income throughout the year.  And we save printing and mailing costs by reducing the numbers of envelopes we have to send out.  Speaking of the envelopes, for those who have already signed up on e-giving, unless we hear from you otherwise, you will no longer receive envelopes after the set you have just received.  Simply go the website home page, and click on parishpay and be done with all the hassle.

And on another note.  Stewardship Alert.  One of the major ministries in the parish, and critical to our future is being a catechist, a person who shares his/her faith, through instruction, with our children.  And we need hundreds of them each year.  Think about sharing your faith in this way (yes, even our fathers out there).  Call Marie Cummings the Religious Ed. Office for more details.
