AIDS Ministry
A parish group of volunteers has been formed to educate, support, visit those who are ill, encourage prayer services, and help those who have been infected and affected with the pandemic of HIV/AIDS. This group has been connected with the National Catholic AIDS Network, The Names Project, Catholic Community Services, the Archdiocesan AIDS Task Force, The Bergen County Office of Special Services, and New Jersey Buddies. This group is also responsible for the Parish’s observance of the Archdiocese of Newark’s AIDS Compassion Sunday, designated each year to educate and support while raising compassionate awareness and witness to this disease.

Career Resources
This ministry serves anyone seeking employment or who may be anticipating unemployment. The Ministry presents a series of four Winter/Spring Workshops. They are: “Create Your Communications Strategy and Resume,” “Define Your Target Market,” “Get Your Message Out - Networking,” and “Interview, Cultivate Offers, and Negotiate.” Professionals, who are members of the Ministry, are always on hand with advice on the topics being presented. An individual does not have to be a member of Mount Carmel Parish to attend. Anyone interested in the subject matter is invited to attend and all are always welcome.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas
This is the largest national organization of Catholic women in the world. Court Our Lady of Mount Carmel #1712 meets on the third Tuesday of the month in the Parish Center. Our mission is to support the clergy world wide, increase our faith, and serve others through works of charity. We hold two fundraisers a year to provide funds for (among others) the Center for Food Action, Eva’s Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity, Retired Sisters of Charity and Retired Clergy, and many religious organizations and orders. We encourage faith development in local school children through an annual Essay, Poetry, and Art competition organized on the national level of CDA. In addition to individually serving various Parish ministries, we hold an annual Court Communion Breakfast in the spring. We also hold a countywide Communion Breakfast on National Catholic Daughters Day in the fall. Our motto is: Unity and Charity.

Eva's Kitchen/Paterson
Eva’s Kitchen, Paterson, began 21 years ago serving a hot meal, seven days a week, providing take-out for later. Mt. Carmel has been involved through their Parishioners and the Catholic Daughters of America, OLMC Court #1712 since its inception. The number of people relying on soup kitchens is alarming, but they can be helped by those of us with the ability to make a difference. Eva’s Kitchen is now Eva’s Village with programs to feed, shelter and rehabilitate persons of all races and creeds. But it begins in the kitchen with a hot meal and we are there to help.
