Men’s Cornerstone is a 26 hour get-together run by a team of individuals that have participated in past Cornerstone gatherings. While many people refer to the overnight meeting as a retreat, there are significant differences between a Cornerstone experience and a retreat that is conducted by a priest or other religious at retreat facility.

Cornerstone provides all participants an opportunity to become more actively involved in their individual spiritual development by reflecting upon other’s experiences, examining their own past, facilitating meaningful relationships with new friends and neighbors, which enhances our ability to build community of God.

Cornerstone is offered for men of the parish by men of the parish once a year and is held in the Church parish center. It runs from approximately 7:00 PM Friday night to 9:00 PM Saturday evening and has been purposely scheduled for the weekend preceding the NFL Super Bowl. In addition to a kick-off dinner on Friday evening, there are three catered meals served on Saturday, each prepared by a local gourmet establishment.

Cornerstone is both a religious and social experience. Some comments expressed by past participants:

*It is an opportunity to reflect on what really matters in life - God, family and friends.

A core team of parishioners meet for an entire year to plan the Cornerstone experience. On the weekend itself, participants and team members share meals, sleep on the premises, pray and listen to stories of faith in God. Each participant has the opportunity to reflect on their own faith in both large and small groups as well as quietly with God.

The Cornerstone weekend affords an opportunity to leave most of your worries and concerns at the door and enjoy the company of other men like yourself that always seem to be too busy to take time to reflect on what life is really all about.
